Generous Donation to Support New Energy Development

Winston Fully Enters American market Ⅳ

On January 24, University of California, Riverside, located at east of Los Angeles, south California, U.S, welcomed a distinguished guest-Winston Chung of Winston Global Energy Group, and received a generous gift. President Time White and Winston Chung signed a memorandum about the donation of 10m USD to UC in order to subsidize Burns Institute to develop clean battery, solar energy and sustainable transportation research.

 

UC Riverside was committed to establish Winston Chung Global Energy Center with this donation, specializing in research of rare-earth lithium battery invented by Winston Chung, probing into comprehensive R& D of biochemical technology, clean energy, and power storage. Meanwhile, establish two professor funds of Energy Innovation and Winston Chung. To express gratitude, Riverside named the teaching building of Burns Institute as Winston Chung Hall, and a research center is also named by the name of Winston Chung.

University of California, Riverside was officially founded in 1954, which is a public university with a staff of 549 people, nearly 20,000 students. It has the most beautiful campus and is the largest language training center in America. UC Riverside has 10 undergraduate majors, 50 master's degree programs and 39 doctoral programs. Because of remarkable achievements in the service, teaching, scientific research, UC Riverside's teaching and research staff is recognized by the American Association for the Advancement of Science as a member.

UC Riverside has 1,200 acres of land, various hardware and software equipment. Students can take full advantage of its audio-visual classrooms, libraries, swimming pools, gym, tennis courts, volleyball courts, baseball fields, and other sports facilities.

After signing the memorandum, Tim White President of the University of California said that this was the university’s largest individual donation ever. Reza Abbaschian Dean from its college of engineering said this was an excellent opportunity for student in the college, and also a large encouragement for the new energy research.
