Winston was granted the “South-South Award”
The Second South-South Awards (2011) granting ceremony was held the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Manhattan on the evening of 19th day. About 1,000 people including leaders and representatives from more than twenty developing countries as well as representatives from various New Yorkers attended the event.
At the same time, the South-South Information Center and China's New Influence International Media Organization jointly organized the Colorful China - Fifty-Six Nationalities Exhibition. The venue is permeated with Chinese flavors.
According to reports, the United Nations has long been committed to promoting South-South program designed to advocate that poverty-stricken areas have and developing countries have the mutual support. Winston Chung is the founder of Global Energy Holdings. He is the inventor of lithium rare earth battery. His overseas company is located in California, and headquarters is located in Shenzhen. He said, lithium battery is a clean energy source and an environment-friendly new product which is used in future new energy vehicles. For the new battery, its charge time is 20-minute and it can run 1000 km after a charge. He is born in the TCM family, but he always is interested in the two studies, one being the life science and the other rare earth lithium batteries. His company in California has 3,300 employees, and he plans to create more jobs. In 2015, his company in America will employ 100,000 people. He said the award let him quite happy, and it is recognition to his efforts.
In the award-granting ceremony, Winston Chung accompanied by the staffs from the organizers walked down the red carpet. This attracted attention from dozens of media at home and overseas. Also, the guests gave warm applauses.

This restaurant is known as the Warren Buffett lunch venue. The restaurant owner specially arranged the table which was for Buffett lunch to Winston Chung’s team. The name of Winston Chung was engraved in a bronze plate which was hanged near to that of Warren Buffett on the wall↓
