Winston Chung Named Fellow of the Bourns College of Engineering at UC Riverside

Inventor and entrepreneur Winston Chung was named the honorary fellow of the Bourns College of Engineering on June 13 at the University of California, Riverside. He is the first Chinese to obtain the honor at UC.

 

Earlier this year, Winston Chung accompanied Chinese President Hu Jintao to visit America. During the visit, Winston Chung established a $10 million endowment at the Bourns College of Engineering to support subsequent researches in rare earth lithium batteries, solar energy, and sustainable transportation etc. In recognition of his scientific, technical and commercial achievements, the Bourns College of Engineering at UC named him the honorary fellow.

 

Reza Abbaschian Dean of the College of Engineering at UC presented the Fellow certificate to Mr. Winston Chung.
