TeraVoima and Winston Battery have agreed to provide 10GWh of battery throughout Northern Europe, adopting a new Battery as a Service (BaaS) business model. To accelerate the deployment of energy storage in the Nordic energy market, TeraVoima and Winston Battery have agreed to establish a substantial-scale battery to serve Nordic households and companies. This is the first transaction of its kind, not only in terms of volume but also in terms of the profit-sharing model, which ensures better profitability in the highly competitive battery market.
"The European energy storage industry has rapidly evolved into a race to deploy battery capacity. This is due to the exceptional volatility of the energy markets and the profitability of providing energy flexibility. TeraVoima has been creating this opportunity for over a decade and we have finally reached the phase where we can deploy battery assets together with battery manufacturers. This profit-sharing model brings strong revenue to the parties and significantly reduces the commercial risk related to the volatility of battery prices. I am very pleased that we have reached an agreement in this landmark transaction", says TeraVoima CEO Jukka Järvinen.
We are very pleased to support the further development of the battery business of our long-term customer and to enable Winston Battery to expand its business overseas. "Our cooperation in business development and innovation dates back to 2001, when we shipped the first batch of batteries to Jukka. This laid the necessary trust for us to take this extraordinary step of launching batteries and battery systems in the European energy market. We acknowledge that the 10 GWh capacity in this transaction will be a challenging task in terms of production, transport, installation and use in the energy market. But we are convinced that we will once again become pioneers in the battery industry, as always. "We have been mass-producing 1000 Ah batteries for more than 19 years, while other companies in the market are still struggling to manufacture their first prototype products. Both parties look forward to helping Europe become a model for the adoption of the world's safest and most reliable water-soluble lithium yttrium high-power energy storage batteries and systems.
To accelerate the layout of energy storage in the Nordic energy market, Winston Battery has reached a cooperative agreement with the Finnish TeraVoima Group. The signing of a 10GWh energy storage order was successfully completed at the EES exhibition in Munich, Germany. The two parties are committed to providing safe and reliable energy solutions for European families and enterprises.
